SANTO DOMINGO. \u2013 El guitarrista dominicano Javier Vargas, profesor del Conservatorio Nacional de M\u00fasica y coordinador del programa Berklee en Santo Domingo, fue distinguido con el Berklee Alumni Achievement Award.<\/p>\n

El tambi\u00e9n educador es el segundo dominicano en obtener este reconocimiento otorgado por el Berklee College of Music.<\/p>\n

El premio fue entregado a Vargas por los maestros Juan Luis Guerra y Michel Camilo, durante una ceremonia en la Sala Juan Francisco Garc\u00eda, en el contexto del programa Berklee en Santo Domingo 2026, que se desarrolla del 5 al 10 de enero.<\/p>\n

El evento es organizado por el Ministerio de Cultura, en coordinaci\u00f3n con la Direcci\u00f3n General de Bellas Artes, el Conservatorio de M\u00fasica y el Berklee College of Music.<\/p>\n

RECONOCIMIENTO A SU TRAYECTORIA<\/strong><\/p>\n

El Berklee Alumni Achievement Award reconoci\u00f3 la trayectoria de Vargas, su compromiso con el proyecto Berklee en Santo Domingo, y su impacto directo en la formaci\u00f3n de j\u00f3venes m\u00fasicos dominicanos.<\/p>\n

Asimismo, su convicci\u00f3n en la m\u00fasica como herramienta de transformaci\u00f3n social.<\/p>\n

Durante el acto, el vicepresidente de Iniciativas Globales del Berklee College of Music, Jason Camelio, resalt\u00f3 la profunda e hist\u00f3rica conexi\u00f3n entre Berklee y la comunidad musical de este pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

Michel Camilo expres\u00f3 su profunda admiraci\u00f3n por Vargas, a quien defini\u00f3 como \u201cuna persona totalmente excepcional\u201d, resaltando su entrega absoluta a sus estudiantes.<\/p>\n

VARGAS DEDICA LAURO A SU FAMILIA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vargas agradeci\u00f3 el galard\u00f3n se\u00f1alando que este trasciende una trayectoria individual y reconoce una historia colectiva.<\/p>\n

Dedic\u00f3 el reconocimiento a su familia, a la que defini\u00f3 como su principal motor e inspiraci\u00f3n, y rindi\u00f3 homenaje a sus maestros y mentores.<\/p>\n
